The ground rules.
Terms of Use for the WSHLSTR beta.
These terms cover WSHLSTR’s public website and its invite-only app. Using WSHLSTR means you agree to them and to the Privacy Policy. Questions go to jafishman@gmail.com.
Who can join
The beta is for invited people in the US who are at least 13. If you’re under 18, use WSHLSTR with a parent or guardian’s permission. You can sign in with an eligible Google account or a one-time email code, and Google’s own rules apply when you use Google. An invite connects you to the person who sent it. It doesn’t give you access to anyone’s lists until they share them.
Use your own account and keep it secure. Don’t share sign-in codes or someone else’s invite. Tell us if you think your account was misused.
Your lists, your call
You’re responsible for what you add and who you share it with. Sharing a list lets the people you pick see it. Don’t post sensitive personal info, anything illegal, or content you don’t have the right to share. Don’t copy or post someone else’s private wishes or gift plans without their okay.
You let WSHLSTR store, process, resize, and display what you add so we can run the service for you and the people you share with. You keep ownership. Store names, images, descriptions, and trademarks belong to their owners, and a product link doesn’t mean a store endorses us.
Reservations are plans, not purchases
“I’ve got this one” tells other shoppers you plan to buy something. It doesn’t place an order, move money, guarantee a gift, or confirm anyone bought it. Release it if your plans change.
The app hides reservations from the person a wish is for. It can’t stop someone from spilling the secret outside the app, or someone seeing a device you left signed in.
Shopping info
WSHLSTR is a wish list, not a store or payment service. Purchases happen with the retailer under their terms, shipping, returns, and warranties. Before buying, confirm the exact model, size, color, condition, availability, shipping, tax, and total.
Imported details and store comparisons can be incomplete, unavailable, wrong, or out of date. We don’t promise every store, the lowest price, or a complete comparison. The original product link always stays, and you can fix imported details anytime.
Play fair
Don’t get around invites or access controls, poke at other people’s data, abuse product lookups, upload malicious stuff, or disrupt the service. We may limit or suspend access to protect people, stay within free-service limits, investigate abuse, or follow the law. Think we got it wrong? Email us.
The beta is free and provided as is. Features, limits, and availability can change, and outages or data loss can happen, so keep your own record of anything important. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise the beta will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing here takes away rights you can’t legally give up.
Leaving, requests, and changes
You can delete wishes and lists in the app. For account deletion, a copy of your data, or a report about content you think infringes your rights, email jafishman@gmail.com. We handle these by hand during the beta and may need to confirm who you are.
Joining the launch list is optional and doesn’t guarantee access or a launch date. You can ask to be removed anytime. If these terms change in a meaningful way, we’ll explain before it takes effect. Any future paid features would be a separate, clear choice.
